Some rebuttals to the message in the comments (in no particular order):
“this message circulated a few months ago in light of a Texas decision regarding abortion…no woman experiencing an ectopic pregnancy would EVER be ushered into the NICO or L&D, as this kind of medical issue would immediately go to ER doctors. Additionally every state, even those with trigger bans, have laws set in place to not affect ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages…a doctor who is in their right mind would not jeopardize the life of their patient at the expense of the law, that in itself would be a liability, if this on any level were true, by law that doctor would have their license under extreme analyzation and would quite possibly have it revoked completely”
“Ky. Rev. Stat. § 311.772 (4) The following shall not be a violation of subsection (3) of this section:
(a) For a licensed physician to perform a medical procedure necessary in reasonable medical judgment to prevent the death or substantial risk of death due to a physical condition, or to prevent the serious, permanent impairment of a life-sustaining organ of a pregnant woman. However, the physician shall make reasonable medical efforts under the circumstances to preserve both the life of the mother and the life of the unborn human being in a manner consistent with reasonable medical practice; or
(b) Medical treatment provided to the mother by a licensed physician which results in the accidental or unintentional injury or death to the unborn human being.”
“Ectopic pregnancies are treated by salpingostomy or laparoscopy, none of which are considered abortion.”

“This started making the rounds after the TX law went into effect, not from the Roe overturn. It’s been debunked as well. As someone who’s had an ectopic pregnancy, I had a “laparoscopy” on my paperwork, not an abortion. I was seen in the ER, not labor and delivery. There is no state, including TX, that doesn’t allow life saving provisions and treatment for miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies in their abortion statutes. This story, if even true, sounds like the nurse spun this to make it appear they had to “work around laws” when actually it sounds like the doctor effed around with his Hippocratic oath, as well as medical center policy and procedure for 9 hours with lawyers because he believed propagandist fear mongering that state laws don’t allow for life saving care, which isn’t true ANYWHERE, statute-wise. But worst of all, he cared more about his license than this woman’s life.”

As a side note. I've become wary of viral tweets and Instagram posts, I know how easy it is to believe posts that seem to reinforce your perception of things. That it's always "the *other* side" that is succumbing to fake news. But social media is neutral, they’re just trying to incite a reaction from you, they don’t care what your view is, they’re just here to push the right buttons for traffic and engagement.
I’ve seen this happen during Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappearance (photoshopped images) Hurricane Sandy (photoshopped images), Amazon Forest Burning 2019 (photos from 2017), the “migrant children in cages” crisis 2018 (photos from Obama’s term), Ukraine War 2022 (old drone footage, etc.)
These situations are dire enough without sensationalism trying to further convince you to hate and rage at "the other side.”
